flush and check

this is one of the mottos at IMP Camp where I have the tremendous pleasure of teaching this summer. I laughed out loud the first time I heard it, but heck with 5 years olds in the mix you have to do some reminding. Regardless...they are an incredible group and have worked their butts off to get their first show together for tomorrow night. It's a hefty bit of work for these kids. Each show has 4 plays, several musical numbers, improv scenes and solo work which they learn in a matter of about 5 days. It's incredible. I can't believe how well it came together. All I've been doing recently is playing the piano, taking pictures and eating snacks...how awesome is that?!
I just liked this one. It was a total fluke.

This little boy, Devin, is 5 and he's adorable...although you can't tell that of course. I think right after this photo he slipped on this bar and fell down, but doesn't he look incredibly stable at the moment?

My shining moment in the show is that I figured out a way for Sarah to wear this heart like a jet pack so she could sing her kick butt rock ballad and be able to play air guitar. Figuring out this feat took a while and I had to even take a break from my snacks. You would have thought it was rocket science for how much thought I put into this and how excited I got when I had the idea for the jet pack. [ok, it's just cardboard and two bandanas, but it's still great!!!]

  1. the picture of the kids feet totally looks like something you would have had hanging in your bedroom back in the day, i LOVE it, it's brilliant!
